Sofa Bed Turning the sofa into a bed & finding the bedding Most asked

Turning the sofa into a bed

  1. Remove the loose cushions from the sofa.
  2. Pull the lower section of the sofa outward until it is fully extended.
  3. Arrange the cushions / mattress sections to create a flat sleeping surface.
Where is the bedding?

The sofa-bed bedding is stored under the main double bed in the bedroom.

Getting the bedding out

  1. Go to the foot (end) of the double bed and find the fabric pull tag / strap.
  2. Pull the strap upwards — the bed base and mattress will pivot and lift upwards.
  3. The sofa-bed bedding is stored in the compartment underneath. Take out what you need, then lower the bed gently back down.
Heating / Thermostat Setting the temperature

The temperature shown on the thermostat is the current room temperature, not necessarily the target temperature.

To increase the heating

  1. Press + until the desired target temperature appears.
  2. Press the tick ✔ button to confirm.
  3. The heating will continue until the room reaches that temperature.

To reduce / turn off the heating

  1. Press until the target temperature is lower than the current room temperature.
  2. Press the tick ✔ button.
  3. The heating will stop automatically.
Important

Lowering the thermostat does not cool the apartment — it only switches the heating off. For cooling, please ventilate the apartment using the windows and the air cooler (see the sections below).

Warm Weather / Ventilation Keeping the apartment cool

During particularly warm weather:

  • Windows can be left slightly open on the tilt position.
  • Keeping the curtains closed during the hottest part of the day helps reduce heat.
  • Opening a living-room window and a bedroom window together creates a useful cross-breeze.
  • In the evening, once outside temperatures fall, opening windows wider helps release accumulated heat.
  • An air cooler is also provided — see the next section.
Air Cooler Midea SmartAir Fast Chill Tower — changing the ice pack

The air cooler works best with a frozen ice pack in its water tank. Frozen packs are kept in the first drawer of the freezer.

Changing the ice pack & refilling

  1. Turn the air cooler off and unplug it.
  2. Open the rear access panel using the latch.
  3. Carefully slide out the water tank.
  4. Remove the beige ice pack from the tank.
  5. Replace it with a frozen ice pack from the first drawer of the freezer.
  6. Put the used ice pack back into the freezer so it is frozen and ready for the next change.
  7. If required, refill the tank with clean cold water — do not exceed the maximum fill line.
  8. Slide the tank back into position.
  9. Close and secure the rear panel.
  10. Plug the unit back in and switch it on.
Ice pack rotation

There are two ice packs: while one is in the cooler, the other freezes in the freezer drawer. Swapping them regularly keeps the cooler working at its best.

Bosch Induction Hob Cooking on induction

Induction hobs only heat when they detect a compatible pan — the surface itself stays relatively cool.

  1. Press the power button to switch the hob on.
  2. Place an induction-compatible pan onto the cooking zone you want to use.
  3. Select the cooking zone on the control panel.
  4. Adjust the heat using the + / – controls.
  5. When finished, set the zone back to 0 (or press the zone off control), then press the power button to switch the hob off.
Hob not heating?
  • Make sure the pan is centred correctly on the zone.
  • Make sure the pan is suitable for induction (a magnet will stick to the base of an induction pan).
  • Make sure the correct cooking zone has been selected.
Oven Functions, temperature and preheating
  1. Select the cooking function using the function dial — choose fan oven, conventional heat or grill as required.
  2. Set the temperature using the temperature dial or controls.
  3. Allow a few minutes for the oven to preheat before putting food in.
  4. After use, turn both dials back to off (0) to switch the oven off.

Tip: the fan oven setting cooks more evenly and usually needs a slightly lower temperature than a conventional setting.

Pull-Out Extractor Fan Above the induction hob

The extractor is a pull-out / sliding unit located above the hob. Pull the front section outward to reach the controls and operate it.

  1. Pull the front section of the extractor outward.
  2. Select the required fan speed using the controls.
  3. Use it while cooking to remove steam and cooking smells.
  4. Switch the fan off after cooking.
  5. Push the extractor back into position when finished.

Wi-Fi not working properly?
  • Check the white cylindrical Deco unit.
  • If the Deco is flashing red, this usually indicates a connection problem.

If the Deco is flashing red, we kindly ask you to restart it:

  1. Switch off the Deco’s power.
  2. Leave it switched off for approximately 3 seconds.
  3. Switch the power back on.
